Daf 21A lines 32-37

בָּעִי רַבִּי יִרְמְיָה:

• רַבִּי יִרְמְיָה asked a question

• רַבִּי יִרְמְיָה gave an answer

חֲצִי קַב

• [if one finds] half a קב [of grain]

• a whole קב

בִּשְׁתֵּי אַמּוֹת

• in two אמות.

• in 4 אמות

מַהוּ?

• What is the דין?

• what is the case?

קַב בְּאַרְבַּע אַמּוֹת

• a קב in four אמות [when the owner gives up]

• קב in two אמות [the owner gives up]

טַעֲמָא מַאי

• what is the reason?

• what is the Din?

מִשּׁוּם

• (is it) Because

• over there

דִנְפִישּׁ טִרְחַיְיהוֹ,

• they are a lot [of] bother

• there is no bother

חֲצִי קַב בִּשְׁתֵּי אַמּוֹת

• [But] half a קב in two אמות,

• [But] half a קב in four אמות,

כֵּיוָן דְּלֹא נְפִישּׁ טִרְחַיְיהוֹ

• since they are not a lot of bother

• since they are a lot of bother
