How do we make predictions?

• by guessing

• by using hints or clues from what we have read

Nick wandered into the living room and slid into a chair. Bella looked up, noticed Nick's soccer uniform, and asked, "Leaving for your game?" Nick pointed at the window and sighed. Thick raindrops slid down the glass.

Josie and Trent ran through the station, squeezing past travelers with giant bags and pushing through lines at the ticket windows.

A loud voice announced, "Last call for train 487!"

"We need to hurry!" Josie shouted.
