Ch.11 Quiz La Catrina Open Book

It's a hot and sunny day when Aguilar calls his assistants together for a meeting, along with his top ______, Mr. "Stained." (hahaha manchado = stained, spotted, marked)

Aguilar gets mad at Sr. Manchado because he says he believes that:

• Jamie should be in the owner of all of his lands

• La Catrina's will is valid

• Aguilar should pay Jamie for her share of the Hacienda

Aguilar points out that if he loses money, he won't be able to continue:

• to pay Mr. Manchado, who charges too much to do nothing anyway

• running for political office

• running his hacienda and hotel

• making donations to different businesses in the city of Querétaro

Aguilar says "we are going to have to take other measures."

• We must stop Srta. Gonazález

• We're going to have to threaten Demetrio Alcocer

• We must fire Señor Manchado

• We must take Jamie to court.

Marcos, one of Aguilar's assistants, knows that:

• Jamie has a copy of the will

• The lawyer knows the truth

• La Catrina was assassinated

• Aguilar is an evil man, and must be turned over to the authorities

María writes Carlos a letter and explains that

• she is very jealous of his relationship with Jamie and would like for him to break things off with her.

• at first she was jealous over Jamie but now she and Felipe are in love and she is happy to have Carlos as her best friend

• she is worried about the two of them becoming involved with the "North Americans" because they won't be staying for long

• although Jamie seems like a nice and innocent person, he really should think twice about being anything more than her friend

When Felipe goes to María's house for dinner:
