Prophets

Prophets are called by God to:

• condemn the people for the sins

• fight with those who do not obey the Law

• foretell what is going to happen in the future

• proclaim God's message to His people

When God called Jeremiah to be a prophet, he said:

• "I don't know how to speak. I am too young"

• "I will do what You say"

• "I will defend You from your enemies"

• "I will go right away to where You send me"

Yahweh assured Jeremiah when He said:

• "I will make you a brave soldier"

• "I will give you the power to heal"

• "I will place My words in your mouth"

• "I will show you where you will go"

To be a prophet is a blessing because:

• it can make a person rich

• it gives a person the chance to meet famous people

• it gives a person the chance to do the task given by God

• it means that a prophet automatically goes to heaven

To be a prophet is a challenge because s/he:

• does not have enough money

• encounters many hardships and suffers persecutions

• is prevented by God to do what she wants

• will not have many friends

John the Baptist is the:

• bravest among the prophets

• favorite of Jesus among the prophets

• first among the prophets

• greatest among the prophets

The crucial role that the prophets in the Old Testament performed was to:

• call the people to conversion

• condemn the people for what they do

• feed the hungry

• lead the people against their enemies

The woman prophet Deborah was a brave woman because she:

• destroyed the pagan idols of the people

• fought and won against the enemies of Israel
