Analyzing RACE Strategy

I would describe Rey as determined, and anxious. I would describe him as determined because he is determined to prove that he is old enough and brave enough to jump. An example of his determination is, “I had to go through with this deal. I had to prove that I could belong to this group, could be a man.” This shows that even though Rey is nervous, he is determined to prove that he has what it takes to be able to hang out with his older cousin and friend. An example of him acting anxious is, “ ”Yeah- down there.” I forced a smile.” This shows how Rey acting anxious. He clearly is anxious or nervous to jump down from the tree.

In the story, “Jumping Tree”, the character Rey's thoughts might have been, You can do this- wait what if I die- Just believe in your self- wait this is a high tree- IM BEING WATCHED- (when he jumped off the tree). At the end of the story he was kinda glad he jumped. He got just the break he needed. I think his character traits are, anxious, I mean jumping off a VERY high tree might kinda sort of mean that he is brave. Anyway his other traits are, foolish, because being yourself is more important than faking to be brave. The other traits of Rey are, courageous, He is trying to be something he is not.

I would describe ray as a nervous boy and i also feel like he wants to fit in.At the beginning he says he doesn't want to jump but sense jorge is there he wants to impress and is trying to fit in with his older cousins by jumping of the cliff.it didn't go well.

A couple words I’d use to describe Rey are alarmed and fearful, yet determined. I think this because he was literally rocking himself back and forth to calm himself down, and hoping it would all be fine. But, I did say he was determined too, but that’s because he told himself in lines 65 and 66 “But I am Mexican. I could not- strike that- would not back down. I would do the deed. It was a question of manhood.”, so this tells me that he was determined to do the jump, just because he wanted to seem manly, and wanted to either seem cool, or wanted to be respected.

From this article is that jorge is neruvus of jumping the tree. At the end he couldn't land right because he couldn't hold on no more so he slipped off and he broke his hand.
