Unit 1 Vocabulary Intro to Geography

(a)   - The study of our Earth; our home. Or anything that can be mapped.

(a)   - A spherical representation of the Earth, a round ball that represents the Earth.

(a)   - A model that tells the Cardinal Directions, placed on maps.

(a)   - Change in accuracy of the shapes and distances of places.

(a)   - A line of Longitude that separates the Earth into the Eastern and Western Hemispheres.

(a)   - Tells you the relative distance on the map to the real world.

(a)   - Also known as a legend, is used to explain what symbols on a map represent.

(a)   - Parallels on the Earth used to help determine locations East and West.

(a)   - The line of Latitude that splits the Earth into Northern and Southern Hemispheres.

(a)   - How Latitude and Longitude are measured. Represented by a small circle on the top right next to the number. Followed by a direction.
