What is a monarchy?

• A system of government that has a ruler at the head

• A system of government where the people make the decisions

• One person makes all of the decisions

• The people vote directly on all laws and decisions

• One person has ABSOLUTE power

• A king or queen makes the decisions

What is an oligarchy?

• A king and queen rule

• A few powerful people rule

• The people rule

• One person rules and has the power

What is a theocracy?

• Recognizes only a portion of the population as the ultimate authority

• Recognizes the people as the ultimate authority

• Recognizes God or a divine being as the ultimate authority

• One person controls everything

What is anarchy?

• No one has control

• Everyone has control

• There is no government in place. No examples exist.
