When we as teacher develop Reading or listening activities, we are developing skills such as:

• Identifying the topic, predicting, interpreting the text.

• Do the activity for general understanding and for specific purposes, getting detailed information.

• Producing a new text, reviewing previous material or studies

How can we avoid possible problems in the development of Reading or listening activities?

• Advice students to research information before the activity.

• Develop activities only based on student’s preferences.

• Develop pre-teaching activities about the topic or the new vocabulary in order to contextualize the students.

A good strategy to develop accurate Reading and listening activities is:

• Actívate the schemata and vary the topics and genres.

• Implement a good material design.

• Develop always simple activities.

Intensive listening permits:

• Students getting new vocabulary and grammar structures.

• Students enhaces their abilites to apply them in real contexts.

When you as teacher spend a lot of time preparing a listening activity moreover the topic you chose is very interesting and important, you can:

• Exploit the listening texts to the full.

• Reward your students for their effort.

• Publish the activities and share with other teachers.

When we are developing a listening activity with low-level students.

• We can play the audio at least three times.

• Twice is enough

• Once is enough

When you divide the class in groups and each one has a part of the audio with a specific activity to socialize at the end,it is a:

• Storytelling activity

• Message taking activity

• Jigsaw activity

Spoken language is not the same as writing language, that’s why we can develop:
