Marrow Thieves-Character Quiz

The truancy police that captures Indigenous people and extracts their marrow to acquire their dreams. They hold prisoners in Residential Schools.

Is an eighteen-year-old woman in Frenchie's family. As the oldest girl which is marred only by a huge keloid scar that runs from her forehead to her chest and which covers one of her eyes.

A seven-year-old girl in the family. This character is generally happy, endearing, and sassy. She begins to crave more independence in the weeks before the main story begins, so she starts sleeping in her own tent and pesters Frenchie to tell her Story.

The Metis protagonist and first person narrator of the story.

One of the twelve-year-old twins in Miig and Frenchie's family. He and his twin are extremely close, to the point that they're essentially the same person in terms of behavior and speech.

The protagonist’s love interest; She was raised by her grandmother, before finding her way to Miig; a competent hunter who learns Cree language from Minerva.

The group’s Elder. She usually sings or mutters in Cree when she speaks at all; she uses her voice and song to cause a marrow-extracting machine to break.

Father figure of a ragtag group of Indigenous children. He's a middle-aged Anishnaabe man who speaks the Cree language and is skilled at teaching his adopted family the Story, an account of the events leading up to the post-apocalyptic world.

A nine-year-old boy in Frenchie's family. He exists in a space between child and adult—he heard Story at age seven and is therefore aware of the danger in the world, but he still clearly wants to remain a child

A Cree 17 year old member of Frenchie's family. He's in his late teens, is extremely tall, and seldom speaks. Chi-Boy often runs patrols—he's skilled at moving silently through the forest and at leaving false trails for Recruiters.
