Why do we have a purpose for reading question when we read?

• That's just how we do it.

• It reminds us what we need to be looking for when we read, and it helps us make thoughtful comments that relate to the reading.

• It looks bad when the box is blank, so we just put a question at the top of the reading so the box isn't empty.
