Bakery Buns

Maria’s mom works in a bakery. Sometimes the bakery needs extra help, and Maria is able to earn extra money doing things like washing dishes and sweeping. Today is one of the days that Maria is asked to work. This time, however, she won’t be washing or sweeping. Maria is going to taste new bakery products to help decide which ones the bakery should start selling. Yum! This ought to be fun.

The first baked good brought out to sample is cookies. Maria tries one with peppermint and chocolate. It is fabulous! She tries another one with lemon chips. Boy, is it good too! The next one has bubble gum pieces in it. Much to Maria’s surprise, she doesn’t like it. She won’t vote for that one.

Next came the cakes, Maria loves the one with whipped cream and raspberries, and the chocolate chip fudge cake is out of this world! Maria isn’t really fond of strawberries, but even the strawberry jam cake is good.
