What is expression in fluency?

• reading with feeling and emotion

• reading silently

• reading out loud

• reading fast or slow

When reading out loud should you do when you see a period at the end of a sentence?

• ignore it and keep reading

• read with more emotion

• pause and take a breath before moving on

• stop reading the story completely

Why is fluency important?

• it can help us focus on the meaning of the text instead of the words

• it can make reading easier

• it can add emotion and excitement to a story

• all of the above

Why do we read stories 3 times to practice fluency?

• because Mrs. Powderly is being mean!

• To help with the flow of reading so we read more smoothly and are able to understand the story

• to answer comprehension questions and get a good grade on the test.

• 3 times is a magic number and so we always do everything 3 times.
