What does this symbol mean?

• Accent- play with emphasis

• Fermata- hold until the conductor cuts off

• Staccato- play separated (short)

• Slur- tongue the first note of the curved line and then play the remaining notes within the curved line without tonguing.

What's the difference between a tie and a slur?
