There are multiple ways to check your equation. Which are true?

• Plug your variable back into the equation (make sure it is true)

• Graph both sides of your equation and look for the x value

• Graph your equation and look for the y value

• Type in your entire equation and see what x equals

5x - (-2) = 8 - x

HINT: Subtracting a negative is the same thing as adding
3 - (-2) = 3 + 2
