What is a monologue?

• a speech by one actor, who has a problem or a story to tell their audience.

• A song sung by the actors.

• A short play for two people.

What is dialogue?

• A speech said by one character.

• Conversation between 2 or more characters.

What does the term ‘blocking’ mean?

• To stop other actors from being seen

• Making sure you can be seen at all times on stage

• Planning and noting down where you move and why (this is your planned movement within your performance)

What does "objective" mean?

• Something that gets in the way of what you want

• A strategy you use to get what you want

• A character want, need or goal

• An object, but special

What does "obstacle" mean?

• A character want, need, or goal

• A hurdle when you're running

• A strategy to get what you want

• What gets in the way of the objective and causes conflict

What does "tactics" mean?

• I thought it was called a tic-tac?

• What your character wants, or what their goal is

• The thing in the way of your objective that causes conflict

• What things characters do to get what they want, what strategies the use

• Is not a monologue.
