How do I see color?

• An opaque object blocks the light (it is scatter, reflected, and/or absorbed), while a transparent object lets the light pass through.

• A colored object scatters some colors of light and absorbs all the other colors of light. Our eyes have three different kinds of cone cells, sensitive to red, green, and blue. Each kind of cell sends different signals to the brain.

• White light is composed of many colors. It is possible to seperate the different colors using a prism or C-spectra.

How can white light be seperated into the colored light of which it is composed?
