SIMOPS activities by their nature deviate from normal operations and therefore expose people to additional hazards and higher risks. It is a mandatory requirement to manage these additional hazards according to the HEMP process outlined in PTS 60.0401, to ensure that risks are reduced to ALARP and the activities are safe to undertake.
