• They help absorb the grease and brush it away so it is easier to clean up

• It can be added to recipes to make a tasty treat, like cornbread

• Cleaner is expensive

If a fire starts in the oven, what should you do?

• Turn off all the oven controls, tell an adult, and have a fire extinguisher ready just in case

• Panic, then open the oven

• Keep the oven controls on, but let it burn out with the doors closed

• Open the oven door slightly to see how bad the fire is

What should you use to put out a grease fire, or a fire that MAY have been caused by grease?

• Your own tears from starting a grease fire

Why should you avoid putting heat proof glass on a burner?

• If the burner is on, the glass could shatter

• It could melt

• It could get super hot and burn you

• It is alright to put class on a burner

What should you do if you smell gas?

• Blame it on the cat

• Turn off all oven and range controls and tell an adult

• Continue cooking or baking

• Tell an adult, but leave everything on so they can come back and see if they smell it too

How should you clean up broken glass?

• With your hands to show everyone how brave you are

• Sweep up large pieces, then use a cloth towel for the small pieces

• With a broom, then a wet paper towel to clean up the small pieces.
