How are your learning habits?

The first thing I do when I get to class is

• open my laptop and check out this lesson's learning intentions
• review what we learnt last lesson
• send a few emails
• catch up on what my friends did last weekend

Throughout the lesson I

• keep my notebook open, with pen in hand
• refer to notes I made in previous lessons
• learn what's on the wall posters
• try to finish everything as quickly as I can

On my computer, I save files

• in a folder for German, under topics and subtopics
• labelled with a descriptive title
• in one giant folder for German
• if I liked doing the activity

I file photocopied resources

• in my folder according to topic
• in a display folder in the order I receive them
• in the bottom of my bag
• into the recycling

I speak German in class

• to get my meaning across, and don't mind if I say it a bit wrong
• to try to get more comfortable using the German I've learnt
• because I know I can only get better with practice
• only if I know I'll get it right (I don't want to be laughted at)

When I come across unfamiliar words or phrases,

• I look up the meaning, add them to my vocabulary bank and review them at home
• I underline them, and write in the meaning
• I wait for someone else to look it up and make a mental note of them
• I skip over them because I can guess the meaning from the context

For me, the most effective way to learn vocabulary is

• Education Perfect
• Quizlet or other technology platform
• testing myself using written/printed lists
• using homemade flashcards

When learning vocab, I'm most likely to

• do a little every day
• do some on most days
• do a couple of chunks a week
• do one big chunk a week
