• Martina and Fernando decided to both escape from the farm in order to save themselves.

• Martina knew Fernando couldn't lie, so she created a STRANGE series of events (sprinkled candy, tied dog to a chain of sausages, etc.) to create a story so awkward, the thieves would both think they were crazy and incapable of stealing their gold.
