Color

• Elements of art derived from reflected light. Hue, intensity, and value.

Form

• Are lines that hold a design together.

Value

• The elements and principles of art.

• The basic components, or building blocks used to create works of art.

• Elements of art that refers to light and dark areas.

• Distance around, between, above, below, and within an object.

Texture

• Colors that are next to each other on the color wheel.

• Drawing technique using sets of crisscrossing, parallel, and overlapping lines.

• Appeals to the sense of touch.

• The surface of a drawing.

Space

• Distance around, between, above, below, and within an object.

• The realistic or lifelike representation of the subject.

• Two or more lines that get closer and closer towards the end.

• When designers and artists use combinations of colors to get certain results.

Crosshatching

• A technique in which objects in a drawing have three vanishing points.

• Drawing to shade or hatch (forms, figures, etc) with two or more sets of parallel lines that cross one another.

• A technique for a perspective that shows different sets of receding lines converging, or meeting, at different vanishing points.

• Two or more lines that get closer and closer towards the end.

Line

• Elements of art that is continuous mark made on a surface by a pointed instrument.

• The second step of art criticism during which the principles of art are used to learn how an artwork is organized.

• Leaning or diagonal shapes suggest falling, running, or climbing.

• Are straight edged.
