A Greek Fable

A wolf caught a young goat returning from the pasture. The goat knew that he couldn’t escape, but he thought that he could fool the wolf. The goat said, “I know that you’ll eat me, my friend, but I’d like just one favor from you. Would you play a tune so that I can dance once last time?” The wolf took out his pipes and played. Some dogs heard the music and became curious. They saw the wolf and began to chase him. The wolf knew that he’d been fooled. He said to the goat, “I got what I deserved; I’m a hunter, not a musician.”

WHAT IS THE THEME?

• Music will always attract dogs.

The Lion and the Mouse

One day, a mouse woke a lion up from a nap by running on his paw. The lion angrily asked- "why shouldn't I eat you?" The mouse said, "if you let me go, then I will help you out one day." The lion laughed at the idea of a little mouse helping him, but he let the mouse go. The next day, the lion was caught in a net. He roared angrily but couldn't get out. The mouse heard his roars. He came and chewed a hole in the net and the lion escaped. The lion thanked him for keeping his promise.

Larry had it all. A huge house, all the toys he wanted, and best of all he had enough money to buy anything he wants. He was always coming to school with new shoes and designer clothes. What more could a kid ask for? But everyday at recess Larry went out to the playground and played on the swings by himself. He disliked recess because there was no one that wanted to play with him. It made him very sad. What is the theme?
