One - Act Play

A play that takes place, from beginning to end, in a single act.

This refers to the major division in the action of a play, accommodating changes in time, setting, character/s, mood.

This may refer to the changes in the play when the location of the action shifts or when a new character enters.

An element of a literature that is typically implied rather than blatant. The reader has to think about it.

In writing fiction, this is the part of the story wherein the writer adds tension and excitement. The writer has to put the lead character, society, nature, fate, or a number of external forces. Inevitably, the complication rises and the character is forced to take some steps to solve it.

The start of the story where the characters are introduced and the setting is established. It is also in this part that the main problem is presented.

At this point, it looks as if the lead character will fail until a turning point happens.
