A genotype is

• the genetic makeup of an organism (like rr, Tt, etc.)

• the physical characteristics of an organism (i.e. red hair)

A phenotype is

• The genetic makeup of an organism

• The physical characteristics of an organism

A dominant allele is

• an allele that is phenotypically expressed over another allele (ex. Tt- T would be the phenotype)

• an allele that is expressed in the absence of the dominant allele (ex. tt)

A recessive allele is

• an allele that is phenotypically expressed over another allele (ex. Tt- T would be the phenotype)

• an allele that is expressed in the absence of the dominant allele (ex. tt)
