The Philippine Revolution of 1896 Part II

Upon the order of Emilio Aguinaldo, Andres Bonifacio was tried on April 28, 1987 by a military court.

Andres Bonifacio was charged with sedition and on May 6 1897 he was sentenced to death together with his brother Procopio.

Emilio Aguinaldo commuted the sentenced of the two brothers from death to deportation to a far place.

Lazaro Macapagal brought Andres Bonifacio and his brother to Mount Buntis in Maragondon where the the death sentence was enforced.

General Camilo De Polavieja felt he was not an effective leader anymore so he resigned.

On April 20, 1897, General Camilo de Polavieja was replaced by General Fernando Primo de Rivera.

Isabelo Artacho and Felix Ferrer wrote a constitution based on the Constitution of Cuba.

Pedro Paterno, a Spanish mestizo who studied in Spain, met with General Primo de Rivera and offered to mediate with the leaders of the revolution to achieve genuine peace.

The peace agreement was called Pact of Biak-na-Bato, signed by Emilio Aguinaldo and Camilo de Polavieja.
