¿Subjuntivo o Indicativo? - con cláusulas adverbiales

The subjunctive is used after certain conjunctions, or adverbial clauses, to talk about events that...

• have definitely happened

• habitually happen

• have not yet happened or may never happen

The subjunctive is ALWAYS used after these two conjunctions:

• para que & antes de que

• tan pronto como & en cuanto

• hasta que & cuando

The subjunctive is NOT used after other adverbial clauses IF the action.... (choose 2!)

• happened in the past

• happens habitually

• hasn't happened yet

• may never happen

Es mejor que compres la tienda de acampar antes de que (gastar) el dinero en otro cosa.

• gastas - indicative, habitual action

• gastes - subjunctive, anticipated action
