MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTION
30 sec • Ungraded
Imagine you trusted someone with some private information, and then that person betrayed you by telling other people about your personal business. How would you react?
Obviously I'd feel incredibly hurt if someone broke my trust. It would take time, but I would try to find a way to get over it and forgive that person. I would probably never trust him or her with private information again, but I don't want to be burdened with holding a grudge.
It's quite possible that I'd never let that person know I knew about the betrayal. I would behave as usual, but I'd never tell him or her another personal detail of my life that I wouldn't share with everyone else.
I would let that person know I'm aware of the betrayal. Even though I'm sure I would never fully trust him or her again, I'd try to let it go and strive to treat that person as usual whenever we're together.
I'd confront that person in front of others so everyone would know about the betrayal. After all, they've probably already heard the gossip. If that person apologized in front of everyone and promised not to do that sort of thing ever again, I might be able to forgive him or her in time, but I kind of doubt it.
I would not only confront that person, I'd let everyone else know he or she isn't trustworthy. Most likely, I would end the relationship and never speak to that person again.
