What is "sensory language"?

• language that connects to the five senses (sight, sound, smell, taste, touch) to create an image or description.

• language that is not very descriptive

• language that has been censored (censorship)

• language that is unfamiliar to the reader

Why do authors use sensory language?

• It is a way for a writer to help the reader see or connect with their story

• without censorship, kids may be exposed to bad writing.

• All stories must have sensory language or they become poems.

• nobody knows for sure, but it probably has to do with the STAAR test
