Meditation verse for chapters 15& 16 of the book of 1 Samuel:
In Chapter 15 we learn about God's rejection to king Saul because he disobeyed God's commandment when he told him not to spare any man or animal. But Saul did not kill ‘Agag’ the king of Amalek, but took him alive, and spared the best of the sheep, the oxen. Samule told Saul that the Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from him.
In Chapter 16 we learn about how David got chosen and anointed as a king from his seven brothers by the prophet Samuel. God chose David to be a king because he has a pure heart.
In Chapter 16 verse 7 God didn't choose Eliab despite of his good appearance, because God search the heart. People look at the outside appearance, but God look at our hearts. we shouldn't care about what the people think about us but care more about how our hearts look in God's eyes.
The man looks at the outward appeareance, but the Lord looks at the heart.
