ASP Exam

A defensive tactic is evaluated by its ability to:

• Control v. Injure

• Maim v. Destroy

• Threaten v. Control

• React v. Act

• Demonstrate the officer's skill

• Widen the retaining clip

• Remove the retaining clip

• Replace the o-ring

• Make the retaining clip smaller

• Lubricate the baton

Officer-Subject Factors do NOT include:

• Weapon proximity

• Skill level

• Age

• Multiple officers

• Size

Safety is the ultimate responsibility of the:

• Imminent danger

• Injury or exhaustion

• Special knowledge

The ASP Baton should NOT be opened:

• the sky

• During a strike

• To the ground

• To the side

• Towards the threat

The ASP Weapon Side Strikes are intended to be performed at a:

• 90 degree angle

• Vertical angle

• 45 degree angle

• Horizontal angle

• 180 degree angle
