WHAT'S YOUR TRAVEL PERSONALITY?

You’re on the train when a noisy crowd of

foreign teenagers get on. What’s your reaction?

• I put on my headphones and listen to some (very)

  loud music and concentrate on mapping out the

  trek I have planned.

• I listen to them to try to understand what they

  are saying and so practice my foreign language

  skills.

• I jump up and make them welcome. Fist bumps

  and handshakes are an international language

  aren’t they? I already have an idea for a game...

• No problem as I am travelling first-class I know

  they probably won’t be sitting near me.

You are going on a two-day mountain hiking trip in

the Scottish Highlands. The day before leaving you

learn that your friend is unable to come. What’s

your reaction?

• I really can’t imagine that I would ever have agreed

  to go hiking in the Scottish Highlands! Sleep in a tent?

  Cancel!

• I am fine with going alone. It might even be more

  fun to face the wilderness alone…

• I text a few friends and quickly find someone to

  replace the friend who can’t come.

• It’s ok. I have researched all the fauna and flora I

  hope to find during the trek so my friend can read all

  about the trip on my travel blog.

What items do you absolutely need to bring with

you when you travel?

• Something to read, a notebook and a touristic

  guide.

• A smartphone, something cool to wear for a

  night out and music.

• Sun cream, sunglasses and spending money.

• A toothbrush, a Swiss army knife and a sleeping

  bag.

What is your ideal type of destination?

• The top of a mountain or a desert island, or why

  not the North Pole?

• A luxury hotel in an amazing place like Hollywood

  or Las Vegas.

• A place with loads of things to visit and discover,

  like Athens or London.

• A holiday resort with activities and lots of people

  of your age to socialise with.

What’s your favourite way to travel?

• On a cruise ship as there’s room to move around,

  meet people and relax while travelling.

• I’d love to take the Orient Express or Route 66.

• If I had the money I’d travel by private jet or I’d

  buy my own yacht.

• My dream way to travel would be on the back of

  a camel through the Gobi Desert.

Your generous aunt Agatha gives you €500 to

congratulate you for your amazing end of year

school report. What do you do?

• I’d book a night or two in an amazing castle or a

  spectacular hotel and spend all the money in one

  weekend.

• I’d go camping with some friends beside the sea.

• I would pack my backpack and go as far as I could

  with the money.

• I’d carefully plan out an itinerary with places to

  visit and things to do each day, maybe in a capital city

  like Dublin.
