• Take a liquid, we can’t test protein in a solid food item

• Cover in a tissue paper and leave it there

• Make a paste of it.

• Shake it

After grinding or mashing a small quantity of a food item, what should we do?

• Put some of that in a clean test tube, add 10 drops of water to it and shake it

• Mix well with water, if it sinks, protein is present

• Add caustic soda to the paste and wrap it in a paper.

• Cover it in a small tissue paper, leave it in the refrigerator, if it turned white, protein is present.
