How is a conditional structure formed?

• With an "if clause" and a "Main clause"

• With present perfect and past simple

• With a main clause and a past participle

• With verb to be and a gerund

We use the ZERO CONDITIONAL FOR

• Making hypothesis

• Talking about wishes and dreams

• Showing regret about the past

• Talking about facts, obvious results and generalities.

We use the FIRST CONDITIONAL for:

• Talking about wishes

• Expressing regret about the past

• Talking about a future possibility that depends on a present condition.

• Talking about facts

We use the SECOND CONDITIOANL for:

• Talking about imaginary conditions and imaginary results. We express wishes and dreams.

• Talking about and unreal past we can only modify in our minds.

• Showing regret about the past.

• Talking about future possibilities

We use the THIRD CONDITIONAL for:

• Wishes and dreams that are not really possible.

• Talking about a past situaction that we can only change in our minds. Normally, we want to show regret abouit it.

• Future possibilities.

• Scientific facts.
