Roy Lichtenstein is a Pop Art artist who has used a Pop Art techniques in his artwork the Explosion (1965-6). The Explosion has four to five layers in multiple shapes that resemble clouds from an explosions. Roy Lichtenstein used was borrowed images of explosions from popular war comics for use in his paintings.
The Explosion has four to five layers in multiple shapes that resemble clouds from an explosions.
Lichtenstein was also interested in the way dynamic events like explosions were depicted in the stylised format of comic book illustration.
