The prophet told him that because of what he had done, his son wasn't going to live very much longer. The child died after only living a week. After this Bathsheba became pregnant again. She gave birth to another son and they named him Solomon. Solomon later succeeded David as king of Israel. This story can be found in 2 Samuel 11-12.
