Wrist Joint PA Projection: Patient Position __________________________

• Seated at the end of the radiographic table

• Patient's height and table height so the forearm is resting on table

• The shoulder, elbow, and wrist joints should be at the same level

• The entire upper limb at the same level

Wrist Joint PA Projection: Part Position __________________________

• Place wrist with palmar surface side down

• Slightly arch the hand at the MCP joints

• Forearm resting on the table with the medial/ulnar surface side down

• The entire upper limb at the same level

Wrist Joint PA Oblique Projection: Patient Position __________________________

• The shoulder, elbow, and wrist joints should be at the same level

• Patient's height and table height so the forearm is resting on table

• Seated at the end of the radiographic table

• The entire upper limb at the same level

Wrist Joint PA Projection: Part Position __________________________

• Place wrist with palmar surface side down rotate wrist laterally 30 degrees

• Place wrist with palmar surface side down rotate wrist laterally 45 degrees

• Forearm resting on the table with the medial/ulnar surface side down

• The entire upper limb at the same level

Wrist Joint Lateral Projection: Patient Position __________________________

• Flex the elbow 90 degrees

• Seated at the end of the radiographic table

• The entire upper limb at the same level

• Patient's height and table height so the forearm is resting on table

Wrist Joint Lateral Projection: Patient Position __________________________

• The shoulder, elbow, and wrist joints should be at the same level

• Seated at the end of the radiographic table

• Flex the elbow 90 degrees

• Patient's height and table height so the forearm is resting on table

Wrist Joint PA Projection Ulnar Deviation: Patient Position __________________________

• Seated at the end of the radiographic table

• Patient's height and table height so the forearm is resting on table

• Place elbow at 90 degree angle

• The entire upper limb at the same level

Wrist Joint PA Projection Ulnar Deviation: Part Position __________________________

• Place wrist with palmar surface side down

• Slightly arch the hand at the MCP joints

• Turn hand outward in extreme ulnar deviation

• The entire upper limb at the same level

Forearm AP Projection: Patient Position __________________

• The entire upper limb at the same level

• Patient's height and table height so forearm is resting on table

• Seated at the end of the radiographic table

• The shoulder, elbow, and wrist joints should be at the same level

Forearm AP Projection: Part Position __________________

• The entire upper limb at the same level

• Supinate hand with dorsal surface side down

• Pronate hand with palmar surface side down

• Extend elbow
