FILL IN THE BLANK QUESTION

5 mins • 1 pt

Read the text and decide if the sentences are TRUE or FALSE.

The theme of this week’s blog is ‘Super Sleuths’. I’ll be reviewing a book, a film and a podcast on solving crimes. Here are my thoughts…

The book: The Riddle of the Girl in the Red Dress

Super detective Amy Peterson is back and this time she’s trying to solve a crime that has puzzled police for over thirty years. Amy travels to a small village in rural Scotland to investigate the disappearance of Rachel Brown. Rachel was a young girl who disappeared one night in 1984, without any witnesses or clues. Is the crime connected to the ghost of the girl in a red dress who appears every year on the same date? You’ll have to read the book to find out, but don’t jump to conclusions too quickly. This story is full of red herrings.

The film: Hércules Poirot and the Case of the Suspicious Bird

It’s 1974 and Hércules Poirot has a hunch that the two suspects in jail in Paris for committing a robbery are not guilty. He thinks that Ms May had a better motive, even though she has an alibi for that night. Poirot believes that there are a lot of suspicious clues at the scene of the crime. Why was a parrot found at the scene? Follow Poirot as he puts two and two together.

The podcast: True Criminals

Follow Megan each week as she helps police with their investigations. This week she investigates the disappearance of a wealthy businesswoman in London. The police don’t have any suspects, but witnesses heard a woman screaming at eight o’clock and saw a blue car driving away from the scene of the crime. Listen to the podcast to find out more!

1 There aren’t any witnesses in the Scottish crime.
