Effective Communication is

• really easy and everyone should be able to do it.

One of the main ways we can tell if a listener is paying attention is

When communicating for full understanding, a great 5 step process is:

• Initiate (start), Mirror, Summarize, Validate, Punch

• Push, Mirror, Summarize, Validate, Empathize

Validate means to:

• Show that you value the other person's opinions

• Decide how much money something is worth

• Tell the other person how wrong they are and how right you are

EMPATHIZE means to:

• Jump as high as you can when you are excited

• Show understanding and sensitivity to the other person's feelings, thoughts, and experience

• Clearly express how you feel so the other person can be convinced you are right

We learn about effective communication skills because
