When it rains, it pours.

• In times of plenty, we must remember people who suffer more than
  we do.
• Light sprinkles generally turn into violent storms.
• The wetter you get, the harder it rains.
• When luck changes, it tends to change dramatically.

Pain in the neck. 

• My neck hurts.
• I need help.
• I went to the hospital.
• Hard to get along with sometimes.

You're barking up the wrong tree.
