OPERATION OF POLYNOMIAL

A mathematical expression that any variables in the expression must have whole-number powers, contain no square roots of variables, no fractional or negative powers on the variables, and no variables in the denominator of any of any fraction.

To add polynomials, simply combine similar terms. To combine similar terms get the sum of the numerical coefficients and annex the same literal coefficients. If there are more than one term, for convenience, write the similar terms in the same column.

Two or more polynomials when multiplied always result in a polynomial of higher degree (unless one of them is a constant polynomial).

To subtract polynomials, change the sign of the subtrahend then proceed to the addition rule. Also remember what subtraction means. It is adding the negative of the quantity.
