1 Kings 19&20

Meditation verse for chapters 19&20

In chapter 19 we learned about the appearance of God to Elijah who was sad! God sent him an angel, who appeared to him, and brought joy to his heart by choosing a prophet to be his disciple.

In Chapter 20 We learned about how God gave victory to his people against Ben -Hadad , When Ben-hadad the wicked king fell into his hands, he sent him away against God’s command. As a consequence for that, Ahab’s life would be taken for Ben-Hadad’s life.

In chapter 20 verse 42 Ahab let the wicked king slip from his hand, and the result for what he did is to lose his life instead of him. We should have friendship with the ungodly, so we don’t learn from them and lose our own salvation. We always need to set boundaries with the ungodly friends.

Kings 19:1-2 Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword. ² Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “So may the gods do to me and more also, if I do not ______by this time tomorrow.”

Kings 19:5-6 5 And he lay down and slept under a broom tree. And behold, an angel touched him and said to him, “Arise and eat.” 6 And he looked, and behold, there was at his head a cake baked on hot stones and a jar of water. And he _____ and lay down again.
