Etsa is an art printing technique that uses a copper plate as a medium. To make a printed reference or cliché, it is done by using a solution of nitric acid (HNO3) which has corrosive properties to copper metal. This technique was invented by Daniel Hopfer (c. 1470-1536) from Augsburg, Germany. With this technique he decorated his armor.
