When working in post-production, there are some basic things to know about the editing process. The most fundamental thing in video editing is a simple cut, which is a type of transition. Along with cuts, there are many other options for transitions. These transitions are used in both Premiere Pro and After Effects. A key difference between the two programs is that in Premiere Pro, all cuts happen horizontally, and in After Effects, clips are stacked vertically.
