Class Manners

I should arrive to class

• Before the bell rings

• A minute after the bell rings

• Whenever I want

When the bell rings, I should be

• Standing in a group talking to my friends

• Complaining about not getting to sit in the back

• Asking the teacher questions

• Sitting in my seat, phone away, airpods out of my ears, ready to learn

When I am choice reading I should

• take the time to check Snapchat

• have my eyes on my book and concentrate on the story.

• talk to my classmates

• watch videos on my phone

If I have trash to throw away

• I should hold on to it until the end of class

• Walk in front of the teacher while she is teaching

• Walk to where my friends are sitting so I can distract them

• Throw it

When the teacher is teaching, I should

• talk to my neighbor or scroll my phone

• have a staring contest with my friend across the room

• put my hands and/or feet on my classmate

• sit up, facing forward with eyes on the teacher to make sure I get the information

When I need to go to the bathroom I should

• argue with my classmates about getting the pass next

• complain to the teacher that I need to go and my bathroom time is more important than my classmates'

• Walk in front of the teacher while she is teaching to get the pass

• wait for an appropriate time and for the pass to be available and walk around the back of the room and down the aisle closest to the door

When my classmates are reading out loud or discussing the current lesson, I should

• talk to my friends

• pay attention to what they are saying

• play a game on my phone

• listen to my music and zone out

When the teacher asks a questions I should

• yell out the answer

• raise my hand and wait to be called on

• put my head down so I don't get called on

• keep playing games on my phone

When the afternoon announcements come on, I should

• start packing up my things

• get up and stand by my friends

• listen to the announcements and stay in my seat until the bell rings

• start lining up by the door

When someone says, "Good morning!" or "Goodbye, have a nice day," you should

• run out of the room as fast as possible

• turn around like they are not talking to you

• reply, "Goodbye/Good morning, you too."

• mumble and roll your eyes
