You should do everything in your power to come visit this summer.  We have a new town center with an outdoor pool and theatre.  We can swim all day and watch movies and plays in the evening.  A new pottery-making shop opened in town too.  We can actually make our own pottery there.  Fun is just a few weeks away!

As I tie my running shoes, Dad says, “Dante, you need to relax.”  My excitement level is so high, it’s unlikely that will happen.  My greatest challenge in this race will be running against my cousin, Troy.  He will also be my greatest comfort.  He always runs with grace and confidence.  Troy says he feels a powerful rush of energy when he starts running.  I’m hoping Troy inspires me to do my best.

Off the coast of Africa is an island that was once home to the flightless dodo bird. The dodo had a large beak and white tail feathers. Although it was friendly, it was a very unattractive bird.
