A student missbehaves constantly and talks back to the teacher, you already called his/her attention three times...what do you do next?

• Take him/her to the counselor

• Take him/her to the principal

• Handle the situation and report it

A student has low grades in a subject, you have noticed that he/she does not turn in work and is constantly absent from your class. This has been going on for two weeks. What should you do?

• Report it to the principal and parents

• Refer the student to DECE

• Talk to the student to understand the situation

A student tells you that his father hit him/her... What should you do?

• Report to DSL

• Ask for a meeting with parents

• Send an email to parents about it

When can I refer a student?

• When the student misbehaved constantly and he doesn't have a bond with the teacher.

• When there's sustained difficulty, I used different strategies, had a meeting with parents, but the situation has not improved.

• When the student is having trouble learning.

• When the student has cried everyday in class for a week.

If there is a student that finishes work too quickly and goes beyond expectations, what can I do?

• Use differentiation to set more challenging activities.

• Ask parent to do an evaluation.

• Make a whole different planning for him/her.

When I have a meeting with parents, should I fill the parent-teacher conference form?

• Yes, always.

• No.

• Yes, if it's about something relevant.
