If you are asked to write a narrative or to continue a story....

• use lots of short little paragraphs including characters and dialogue.

• use a story someone else has written, and include the same characters.

• compare and contrast using short sentences

• make it boring

HOW CAN YOU MAKE SURE YOU DO WHAT IS ASKED?

• Use all of the time allowed and go past the time.

• Cross out wrong answers.

• Read the instructions carefully.

• Get a lot of sleep and come late to school.

When asked to figure out a vocabulary word....

• only focus on that word

• use the sentences around the word as well as the sentence the word is in

• use clues from the end of the paragraph

• leave the state test site and look it up
