If my child is good at something like sports/music/...

• I will tell it to be humble about it

• I will tell it to still be humble and modest

• I will try to hide its talent

Never complain or make excuses. If something seems unfair, just prove yourself by working twice as hard and being twice as good. That is a good thing to say to your children
