• Put off by the sharp way he's talking to me. He must hate me 😧

• Say okaaay.... and go to your desk thinking, what am I supposed to do here? 😯

• Super, thanks. Will do. Let me make sure, I have understood you correctly (and go ahead asking questions).

• Yes, thanks.

  (...and then only finish it by the end of the week).

You are unsure, what is expected from you, as you only briefly managed to meet with your supervisor so far.

• Come to the office by later next day - better to go explore the city, than to be bored in the office.

• Be in the office on time the next morning and try to make yourself visible to your supervisor.

• Sit quietly at your desk and surf internet, so that you don't bother anyone.

You like your internship and the people in the office, but you feel cut-off and lonely when you go back to your apartment. You would like to make friends with your colleagues.

• Be offended and angry because no-one understands your struggles.

• Ask your supervisor to show you around.

• Identify colleagues, that are open/ friendly/ curious about you and try to make a personal conversation, for example over lunch.

• Find out about social activities, that your company offers.

You are giving back the work to your boss. You are quite proud of what you have done. But your boss sees it differently:

"No, you have got it all wrong!"

• Go back to your desk thinking "I'm a looser!"

• Take the feedback, reflect on it and think of what you can do better next time.

• Get angry. Your boss didn't event see all the hard work you have put into it.

• Start explaining your reasons for the task turned badly.

You would like to make friends outside your internship.

• Ring the bell at the neighbors door.

• Inquire about expat community in our city.

• Go to the nearest bar and start conversations with strangers.

• Sign up for a touristic attraction tour or a trip.

Your internship has come to the end. What would be a good thing to do on your last day in the office?
