Although nobody truly knows why Stonehenge was built, we do know several things about it. Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument that consists of a ring, or circle, of large stones. Stonehenge’s original construction began around 3000 B.C. with additions and variations added throughout the years. There are two types of stones in the monument, large sarsens (sandstone blocks) and smaller bluestones. It is located in England, about 80 miles southwest of London and receives more than a million visitors each year.

Kangaroos and Koalas are both well-known Australian animals. They also both belong to the order of mammals called marsupials, which means that the females have pouches to hold their young. However, there are some differences between the animals. Kangaroos have long, strong tails that help them balance as they hop. On the other hand, Koalas do not have a tail and can only walk and climb trees. Koalas and Kangaroos are similar in their diets, as well. They both are herbivores, eating only plants. While there are dozens of species of kangaroo, there is only one species of koala. These animals are both suffering from habitat loss due to the growing urban development in Australia.

Our Earth is home to millions of amazing creatures. Unfortunately, because the world is continuously changing, these animals are having a hard time surviving. Due to the growing human population, our animals are becoming endangered. Urban development, or growing cities, leads to deforestation. Deforestation is the removal of Save the Animals Our animals are endangered, and it is our responsibility to help save them! One way that we can help the endangered species in our world is to reuse and recycle. When we reuse and recycle, this prevents further damage from being done to animal habitats. Buying recycled products will help, too. Another way to help our endangered species is to reduce the amount of pollution we are creating. Simple steps can be taken that help, like turning off the lights, carpooling, or using energy-efficient vehicles, and even forest and trees for other uses, like planting crops or building structures. This removal of trees is the removal of animals’ homes. Pollution is also an effect of urban development. Pollution is any harmful substance that is released into the environment. It comes in the form of chemicals, light, heat, and sound, all of which have a negative impact on animals.

In many countries around the world people are unable to find clean water to drink. Clean water is necessary for a healthy life. One program called The Water Project is taking matters into their own hands by digging wells in Africa so that locals can have clean water. They know this will not fix the issue everywhere but it’s a step in the right direction.
